This morning, Secretary Clinton will be giving a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in which she will hail the United States' foreign-policy successes, such as relaunching Middle East peace talks, toughening sanctions on Iran, and advancing nuclear nonproliferation, reports Politico. A senior official told the publication that the speech is titled, "Seizing the new American moment: Why the U.S. can, must, and will lead in the 21st century."
According to prepared remarks quoted by Agence France-Presse, Clinton is to say that the United States is the "best hope in a dangerous world" and:
The world is counting on us. When old adversaries need an honest broker or fundamental freedoms need a champion, people turn to us. When the earth shakes or rivers overflow their banks, when pandemics rage or simmering tensions burst into violence, the world looks to us.
