Hope my fellow Americans had a great Labor Day weekend. Here's today's Hillary Clinton news brief:
•A plot by al Qaeda-linked Islamist militants to bomb the hotel where Secretary Clinton was staying during her visit to Nairobi, Kenya, last month (shown above) was foiled at the last minute, The Australian reports. Very scary.
[Update (Sept. 10): This story might not be true -- see stacyx's comment below. FP regrets any error; at the time of posting, the story seemed credible.]
•This morning Clinton and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg celebrated the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's arrival in New York Harbor by welcoming Prince Willem-Alexander of Orange and Princess Máxima of the Netherlands.
•This afternoon, Clinton will be back in Washington to bilateral with Mohammed bin Zayed, the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates.
•Clinton's husband Bill gave an interview with Esquire magazine. The print version will be available in the October issue, which'll hit newsstands Sept. 14.
•Do any of you live in the Orlando, Fla., area? An exhibit at the Presidents Hall of Fame features the roughly 35 women -- most from lesser-known parties -- who have made a bid for the U.S. presidential nomination. Included is a replica of a navy-blue suit worn by Clinton.

Yes, very scary, and very under-reported! MSM - not a word so far.
In the controversy brewing over free speech and "Hillary: The Movie" (which, ironically, seems to have provided the MSM with an excuse to show excerpts from that so-called "documentary" over and over -- particularly the clip where Ann Coulter calls Hillary an outright liar), someone made the interesting point that the New York Times is a corporation, and yet we have no problem with their endorsing candidates. Food for thought. It is certainly true is that what passes for objective, unbiased reporting often falls short of the mark. The story about the foiled attempt to assasinate our SOS is a case in point -- I wonder who decided that was not news that was "fit to print" and why?
And I mean absolutely stunned that no one has reported this story. I would have thought that the attempted assassination of a high ranking Obama cabinet member would at least have been reported by our media. Once again, our so-called mainstream media is asleep at the switch. I really never had any respect for our media, and here's a shining example of why.
FOOLS!!!!
Speaking of unreported stories...
This was in the NY Post today:
“Hillary Clinton is said to be frustrated with her lack of authority as secretary of state and resentful of the glacial pace of the White House vetting process. “President Obama’s picks fly in even if they didn’t pay their taxes. But her picks take forever,” noted one Democrat. “Plus, she has no real clout over Holbrooke or Mitchell.” Richard Holbrooke is Obama’s “special representative” for Afghanistan and Pakistan. George Mitchell is “special envoy” to the Middle East. Clinton is said to be considering quitting to retake her old US Senate seat now held by Kristin Gillibrand — or running for governor, as one rumor has it. “Her argument will be that Gillibrand is in danger of losing the seat to the Republicans,” said a source. But Gillibrand won’t voluntarily step aside, unlike Rep. Nita Lowey, whom Clinton nudged out of the race in 2000. “You couldn’t blow Gillibrand out of that seat with dynamite,” said our source. Clinton’s rep did not get back to us by deadline.”

I covered this story on my blog and was initially concerned that there was no MSM coverage. Then I spoke to someone at ABC news and they said the reason the US and British media were not covering the alleged terror plot story was because all their inside sources said there was no truth to the story.
With respect to the rumors about Hillary stepping down to run for Governor of NY- that is based on a one-sentence post on the Weekly Standard- not a single named source was used. Someone is just trying to stir up trouble and unfortunately, it ends up being a distraction for Hillary and takes the focus away from all the great work she is doing at the State Dept. In other words, these rumors end up hurting Hillary (in my opinion).
