Clinton's 'body woman,' Huma Abedin is engaged to U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.). Abedin has been Clinton's omnipresident personal assistant, always at her side since her 2000 Senate race. (Meanwhile, no word yet on whether there'll be wedding bells anytime soon for Chelsea.)

Wasn't Huma Abedin working

Wasn't Huma Abedin working for Hillary all the way back to her days as First Lady and worked her way up to personal assistant and body woman? She actually is also serving in an advisory role at the State Dept (in addition to being Hillary's personal assistant).

Well, congrats to both of them- hopefully they will be able to get some measure of privacy at their wedding and afterward, if possible.

Yes, you're right.

From what I can tell, Abedin officially became Clinton's personal assistant in 2000. Between 1996 and 2000 she worked for Clinton in other roles. From the New York Observer article at http://www.observer.com/2007/hillary-s-mystery-woman-who-huma?page=all: "Ms. Abedin began working for Mrs. Clinton as an intern for the then First Lady in 1996. She was hired as a staff assistant to the First Lady’s chief of staff, Maggie Williams. For several years, she was the backup to Mrs. Clinton’s permanent personal aide, Allison Stein, and she officially took over as Mrs. Clinton’s aide and advisor around the time of the 2000 Senate race."
