Here's a photo of Secretary Clinton standing behind President Obama at this morning's announcement about Afghanistan and Pakistan.

What do you think Hillary's thinking?

U.S. President Barack Obama speaks about Afghanistan and Pakistan as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates look on behind him in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on March 27 in Washington. Obama announced a new strategy consisting of increasing troops in Afghanistan while boosting aid in Pakistan with the hopes of weakening al Qaeda.

Here's a close-up photo:

Huffington Post has some good

Huffington Post has some good pics (one of which is now my desktop wallpaper) of Hillary's fashion "look" over the years. Contrary to what some of the people were saying over there in the comment section, I personally think she's more gorgeous now, as she's gotten older.

Yes, Hillary is

Yes, Hillary is self-confident, and that is attractive. She is also mature -- as opposed to juvenile like Junior (you know who I am talking about) -- and the combination of maturity and self-confidence have made her even more charismatic as she has gotten older.

So, the next logical question is: If she is getting better as she gets older, what will she be like in 2012 or 2016?? ;-)

She just continues blooming

I have a rosebush like Hillary. It blooms from early spring through Thanksgiving. Every generation of roses gets prettier. The colors change from one blooming to another.

There is something deeper in her now that she has campaigned for herself a few times and been up in the Senate. She has personally reached out to all of us, and I think that has something to do with it.

You can be beautiful and confident at one level when you are young and have the love of one person. But I think the kind of vulnerability she subjected herself to over the past two years and the overwhelming response she got from us brought her to some new level. It brought a lot of raw passion out of her (and us), and it absolutely shows on her. She always glowed from within, but now there's a fire there. She's exquisite.

What Hillary was thinking - take 3

"Wonder if anyone saw that article in the Philadelphia Bulletin? Just asking...."

"A lawyer involved with legal action against Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) told a House Judiciary subcommittee on March 19 The New York Times had killed a story in October that would have shown a close link between ACORN, Project Vote and the Obama campaign because it would have been a 'game changer'.”

What Hillary's thinking. . .

She's thinking, "This is going to be a tough process. Even if we do everything right, new challenges can still emerge. We've worked with our best and our brightest, but there are no guarantees." She's thinking that she's glad to be there as part of the team, to be taking a leading role in solving big problems. And she's thinking that it's good to have smart people looking without blinders at a situation that has not been managed effectively to this point.

As for me, I'm wondering if this blog will become a little less of an afterthought with pictures and a little more interesting. I'm looking for information and a unique perspective, not a writing assignment.

Madam Secretary is an obsessive blog about all things Hillary Clinton. From her policies to her pantsuits, Madam Secretary delivers up-to-the-minute news, analysis, and gossip about America's top diplomat.
