Postmortem on speech before Congress?

What is one to make of the fact that everytime Obama or Gaithner says something about the economy -- even a speech as generally well-received as the one last night -- the market tanks?

Marie Cocco's "Bill Clinton REdux" comparing Obama's speech to Bill Clinton's not Reagan's is worth reading! Very similar indeed,almost word for word in anticipating the "universal health care" time factor -- except back then Clinton did not have a full Congress supporting him! President Clinton's job was a lot more difficult, even though times were better, due to fact that he had to fight every inch of the way to confince his Repugnants across the aisle. Obama is already assured the support of Congress! Why in the world is this guy so TIMID? Now is the time to push for the progressive Democratic agenda. If not NOW, when?

Could FP please place a phone call to Marie Cocco and ask her, or beg her, to host this blog please~~urgent!

Thanks to NYCgirl for great vid reference....I thought it was a great collection to cherish...i just re-reviewed my own old favorite youtube of Hillary.com entitled "PRESENTS"....everything she had wished for and everyone else. A "must" see for what will surely be missed this time around!...

I remember when the teleprompter went out on Bill Clinton during one of his last State of the Union addresses, yet he kept right on talking, because he knew his speech, cold, in fact, had been revising it himself in the limo on the way over. Obama without a teleprompter?

Only if( and when ) phony Clinton "scandal" is cooked up, will this blog's hiatus cease. Right now the upper crust needs Hill to assure our creditors too much to trot out the usual crap. And if you can't slime a Clinton, why bother mentioning them ?

That's what I'm seeing in this blog's inactivity...It's in sleep mode until they need hounds yapping at Hill's heels

First they hire a hillary-hating blogger (meagan) to write the SOS section, then they realize they can't get the hillary-hate crowd because Obama fans are busy biting their nails and the wealthier ones are having to sell their stocks, so FP takes her off the front page and barely mentions her at all. Pretty amazing.

By the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including section 2(c)(1) of the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962 (the “Act”), as amended (22 U.S.C. 2601), I hereby determine, pursuant to section 2(c)(1) of the Act, that it is important to the national interest to furnish assistance under the Act in an amount not to exceed $20.3 million from the United States Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund for the purpose of meeting unexpected and urgent refugee and migration needs, including by contributions to international, governmental, and nongovernmental organizations and payment of administrative expenses of Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the Department of State, related to humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza.”

I don’t object to helping to alleviate conditions in Gaza — though these dollars are badly needed at home — but the purpose of the U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund is “to provide U.S. resettlement opportunities to refugees” so that “U.S. admissions programs may become more responsive to critical refugee rescue needs.”

Does this mean the funds are earmarked for the resettlement of thousands of Palestinians in the United States?

sorry guys, i can't come back here....

I noticed yesterday there was a complete HRC blackout on the front page of this site, only to see the next day there were 2 negative articles about her on the front page. That she is a "disappointing" "letdown", in the middle east and that she should give up. Whenever there is foreign policy the magazine or wesbite likes, it's congrats obie you rock we love you omg (okay, that's a little exaggerated, but still), and when they don't, it's hillary should give up attempting peace in the middle east. She goes to asia for a week, no word, she goes to the middle east and in a day they have an article up about what a let-down she is.

I won't be coming back to this site, i hope some of you join me on capitolhillforum.com, i might stop by hillaryclintonforum.net at some point, i suspect they have a lot of members, which is good. Just stay together guys, obviously people in this country cannot shake their CDS (Clinton derangement syndrome) and we're going to have to stick together and speak the truth when we have the chance. So keep up the great comments, sorry I can't stick around.

Great comments and hope to see you later! The FP jsut wants to sell copy so its negativity is sometimes "put on" I think. But I can't figure out why they still haven't assigned an editor to this blog! Perhaps..

Periodically, the FP chief-leg-thriller scribe gets feeling down and starts launching attacks on Hillary to boost his readership appeal.......
