Dear readers-
Many thanks for your questions and e-mails about this blog. We are in the process of figuring out the best way forward for Madam Secretary, and appreciate your continued patience.
In the meantime, consider this an open thread.

Please don't take too long
Gotta have my Hillary fix. She leaves for the Far East on Sunday, and will spend the week in Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and China.
me too
I just found this blog. i am a big hillary fan. the news media is not covering Secretary Clinton enough. I do post on the State Dept. official blog and check everyday on my Hillary news but not much. I hope she gets more face time. I was damn lucky to get 20 seconds of her leaving Washington on her jet on CNN.
Email and call CNN, tell them
Email and call CNN, tell them you need more hil!
Another Hillary blog everyone might like
http://allthingshillaryclinton.blogspot.com/
Edited to say, it does look like it's put together ...
by people i wouldn't trust. So agree with those below.
their blog roll includes msnbc, maddow, huff po, etc.
Very odd, she says "hillary clinton is my god" then links to the huff po and msnbc? yeah, ok.
hey thats my blog!
hey allthingshillary.blogspot.com is my new blog. i would hardly say im "people you cant trust". im one person that is blogging about hillary. i happen to be in the process of setting up a bunch of links, not just those that are up now. but im not the type to link to "Sarah Palin Hockey Moms" just for the record.
i mean, if i do say so, id say my site has the MOST up to date info on hillary as SOS as of yet. what other options are there people? i dont have any crazy agenda... please dont hate
Why link to the bashers
Okay, but there is still no info on your site identifying you at all. Some of us just find it questionable that you would link to the egregiously anti-Hillary "liberal media" on your site. It's got nothing to do with "hate". And not all of us who are against MSNBC are Repubs.
a link to huff po? maybe stop linking hate...
maybe you don't know, as I didn't before I started reading this blog, that arriana huffington is a conservative whose first blog was encouraging the impeachment of Bill CLinton. That site is sick.
Also NY Times
In addition to Huff Po, MSNBC, Clintonistas For Obama (a contradiction in terms if ever there was one ...), and Wonkette, there is also the New York Times! Maureen Dowd, anyone?
I know a Hillary supporter
I know a Hillary supporter who works for the Times, she said the people in the newsroom do not like Hillary and live for Obama since the primaries. They think she's of lower class than Obama (i put that nicely). oh yes, that's right. Elitist ass-oles.
Hell yes.
An excellent site.
Questionable links
The anti-Hillary links in the blog roll make that site questionable.
Abandon
This is just cloying personality tabloidism. The State Dept. and massively important issues in its portfolio -- what this space could address under new management -- are not identical to the person and interests of Hillary Rodham Clinton. On the website of a publication with this title and reputation, the editorial sensibility that this blog has thus far exhibited nearly constitutes a breach of readership trust. A rethink is in order.
Anything is better than
Anything is better than nothing. There has been essentially no coverage of Foggy Bottom by the MSM since the inauguration. I know the economy/stimulus package has taken center stage, but still...
Now you know how some of us
Now you know how some of us feel about Obama and his minions, which includes MSM. A tabloid presidency, indeed!
What the heck?
How does it bother anybody or waste any "space" if we have a little corner of the world to obsess about Hillary?
If this be personality tabloidism, then give me Hillary or give me death!
And Don't Tread on Me! If I don't see Hillary for too long, I hiss and I bite =O
Inappropriate Tone
There is nothing wrong with such a site in principle, but Foreign Policy magazine probably isn't the place for it.
A Foggy Bottom blog on the work and politics of the State Department, including Secretary Clinton, seems like a better fit.
I have to agree.
FP used to be a fun mix of serious analysis and unexpected perspectives. Now the whole site appears to be focused on gotcha gossip.
What are you talking about???
The whole site?? You mean this whole blog, surely.
lol @ hiss and bite. but i
lol @ hiss and bite. but i pretty much agree, i think things like who's mad about his office space is unnecessary. I think her schedule and how she's faring is great, but more about policy would be best. the photos will give us all we need to know about her hair and jewelry, which i love love love, but the written word should be more serious than tabloid. And if they don't have enough to write about, that would be alright.
I still nominate you...
Anne - to take over the blog. I think you have the right perspective.
You have to forgive my earlier post since I have been suffering withdrawal.
We need t-shirts
Hey, Still4Hill, I just noticed that statement you made:
"Give me Hillary or give me death"
We really need to make up some t-shirts with that line on them!

ALL are Welcome!
One of, if not the best Womens and Hillary sites on the web!
Well, Guys...
They've left this in our hands, so I'll start. I am sure by now that many of you have seen this, but this lovely video is from yesterday which was my birthday (yes, along with Abe's and Darwin's). It is a beautiful birthday present. Hillary looks so beautiful and happy, and her voice sounds so pretty. I just love this video.

By the way, this is my latest favorite outfit on her.
Blake, thanks for responding
Blake, thanks for responding to our request for information on the status of this blog. As you can see, there are many of us who are very interested in Hillary Clinton as SOS.
I have only been reading Foreign Policy for a few weeks, brought here because of the Madame Secretary blog, but I have found the entire site to be informative and I read it daily.
Please work as quickly as you can to bring Madame Secretary back on line.
I second that emotion!
I didn't mind the more low brow stuff one bit, and as for "gotcha gossip," some of that is legitimate political analysis -- e.g. is Emanuel trying to wrestle the China portfolio away from Hillary? I enjoyed Carolyn O'Hara's mix of the serious and the mundane.
The best move to date
They all cautioned him against it. She would have her own agenda. The confirmation process could be a media circus. The President has made far too much money, and will never release the donor lists. It will be all Bill all the time in the media. They are out for themselves...they aren't team players.
Update: February....of all the moves President Obama has made thus far, the appointment of Hillary Clinton has been the highlight of his new administration. Sailed through the confirmation process, and has gotten to work.
Appointed a career diplomat and a political legend to the Middle East, and is about to take on Asia for her first assignment. No fluff European visit to start off....France, England, etc. Hillary is going to Asia. And while it may not compare to Coretta going to Memphis, is there any doubt Hillary Clinton has been ready since day one?
And while it may be unfair to say, the Obama administration has been leaking oil since the starting gate; and I for one can't help but speculate that the start of a Hillary Clinton administration would have been "drama free" compared to Obama and the tax evaders.
hillary can"t catch a break...
I agree with your comments. There are some people that just will not give Hillary a break. Most of the negative things said about her are false..it seems everyone has their own agenda and Hillary makes an easy target. A good example of this is the reporter Chuck Todd, who obviously is to busy being a television celebrity to listen to what Hillary had to say. He wrote an article stating that the reason Hillary Clinton lost in the primaries was because she didn't know why she wanted to be president. How absurd...at every one of her rallies Hillary told the crowd why she wanted to be President and her plans to help this country. Chuck Todd like so many others just stopped listening (which is frightening since he is supposed to be a reporter). Well that is what I am going to do the next time some self serving critic uses Hillary for target practice. Hillary Clinton can run circles around the entire Obama Administration..they are lucky to have her as Madam Secretary...and this county is better off for it.
At least she wasn't hit by a rock...
Does anyone remember that moment during the GE when a 7 year old girl in Indiana asked Obama why he was running for President? His answer? “I got hit in the head with a rock,” Obama said with a chuckle. “And when I woke up I had made my announcement, and then it was too late." He then went on to explain he was only joking.
Second try: “I am running for president because I’ve got two daughters just like you,” he said.
That was apparently not enough, so he droned on through a dozen liberal policy-wonk themes. Finally, at about the 7:20 mark, Obama reprised the refrain that he and Michelle have been hammering for 20 years — that America basically sucks and he’s the only one who can save it.
If anyone else had said that, especially Hillary, Chuck Todd and those other clowns at CNN would have been all over her. But the ONE? He's only working for a more perfect union for his children and all children.
Pass the bucket.
coverage of Madame Secretary
Has been in Hong Kong almost a week, and am thrilled to see that Hillary is mentioned everyday on the news. Apparently, TV coverage, including CNN international thinks there is much about her to cover, and are excited with her visit, and how the Obama foreign policy as represented by Hillary will impact the region. She is very well respected. Unlike the US news coverage, which is mostly interested in personalities, the news here seems more focused on substance.
Agree with you, mcting.
You are right. The Chinese media(including Hongkong media) focuses on policies and substance instead of the personalities of the leaders.
All Things Hillary website
I have noticed this site:
All Things Hillary
http://allthingshillaryclinton.blogspot.com
has been promoted here and on another blog I read. But there is no info on that site regarding who is sponsoring it. Does anyone know who is behind it? I can't help but notice that in the left-hand navigation menu, under "Hillary News", the following are listed (among others): Huffington Post, MSNBC, and Clintonistas For Obama!!
Nothing for nothing, but those are hardly the sites that I would want to link to for unbiased "Hillary News". Who can give me further info about All Things Hillary?
thats my blog!
all things hillary is my blog. so i guess... im sponsoring it?
everyone seems to be up in arms over my links! im not saying anything other than: these sites have pages dedicated to hillary. im not an msnbc or huff po lover by any means. i just happened to post those (amongst many more that will come) first. ive just gotten started linking sites... and i never said they were unbiased. i think rachael maddow is cool (except during the primaries. i hated her). i lean to the LEFT. i wont be linking to any Sarah Palin sites... sorry pumas. :(
but all my content is just daily news anyway... i have no extremist agenda. IM FOR HILLARY ONLY!
You are linking to anti-Hillary sites
Sorry, sssarah, but your All Things Hillary blog is linking to anti-Hillary sites. Huff Po and MSNBC have been rabidly anti-Hillary -- MSNBC most disgracefully so -- and contributed to the smearing of her campaign that led to the nomination being thrown to Obama. As I've said in previous posts, some of us find that questionable.
BTW -- Who said anything about Sarah Palin??
ok then help me out
i am linking to all sites that have a Hillary page. personally, i dont care for msnbc or the huff po or the nytimes or cnn or any of them. but if someone is saying something about hillary, good or bad, i want to know. i link to huff po cos they have a hillary page and i post on it all the time defending her. im a total news junkie and thats why those are up. how can we keep up on all things hillary if we dont delv into the scary world of the MSM?
i intend to link many more outlets, i like puma sites in some respects and clintons for obama sites in some respects. i havent finished all my links
i linked to liberal media sites because i enjoy reading other things on those sites. but by no means does that mean i support EVERYTHING they stand for. or that i think anyone has to read them. i understand thats not very clear so maybe i will just take them down or write an explanation cause i really would like hillary fans to enjoy my site!
i appreciate your comments but what id appreciate more than being written off so quickly is some other suggestions about what kind of news sites or links that could better my site or that are pro-hillary. its so hard to find actual "news" where there isnt SOMEONE whos biased. for example, I linked to jezebel.com because they have a hillary page and they are always praising Hillary. id like to find other sites like that.
maybe we can be friends and support eachother instead of "skipping the All Things Hillary blog"?
State Dept. Blog too slow to post
I am happy i found this site. The State Dept. Dipnotes Blog is very slow and long to post because the screen. Takes a day! I want more coverage on Secretary of State Clinton.
Why?
News coverage on Hillary's events and remarks as a SOS has been so so limited. Why? I don't understand. As Secretary of State ranks the highest among Cabinet members, why did that happen? Yes, the economy is a big issue, but the government deals with more than just economy. I just can't find Hillary news any more. The only source now is perhaps the State Department offical website.
Call and write CNN and your
Call and write CNN and your local news. Let them know you want more hillary!
I noticed that as well
NYCgirl I noticed that too. Hardly the crowd I would trust with Hillary news. Why not just go to Ken Starr's blog?
The reasons there is so little Hillary news in the US are
A: Her successes would over shadow Obama
B: There is no phony Clinton scandal at the moment.
The press could care less about policy or peace.
Do either provide them with that 2nd ski lodge they want? Nah.
Let's skip All Things Hillary
I think we can probably skip the All Things Hillary blog, unless someone tells us who's behind it and why the sponsors think Hillaryites would want to read what Huff Po and Chris Matthews are saying about HRC. That's just my opinion, though.
Re: The scarcity of Hillary news -- How is the foreign press covering her trip to Asia? Any postings of articles from the foreign press would be appreciated if they are mentioning her at all. We aren't going to get any morsels of coverage from the U.S. media, that's for sure.
it's a blog worth reading!

or check this out: Hillary clapping in Japan

and more...
Thanks for the video
Tifom, thanks for the video of Madam President -- I mean Madam Secretary arriving in Tokyo!
To NYCgirl
As to your question "how is the foreign press covering her trip to Asia", I know for sure that in China the political commentators have been forseeing and analyzing her trip to China since the U.S. State Department announced the schedule. And on popular portal websites there would be a full coverage of her trip in China as soon as she arrives in China, not to mention the state media of China.
And I read from the web that Japan has been thrilled to have Hillary clinton visit Tokyo. In Korea , She will enjoy the reception and security guard services of "super" minister, which means, higher than normal ministers/cabinet members. It is said that the Korean President will have lunch with her, which is exceptional for a Korean President to do that with a foreign Cabinet member or minister. Besides, she will enjoy presidential-level rather than minister-level security services in South Korea.
Thanks very much!
Thanks sweetycat! I feel like I am living in some alternate universe where Madam PRESIDENT just touched down in Tokyo and the U.S. Government is now in the hands of a "stunt double". Thank you for updating us on the Asian press.
liberty belle for Hill
Please keep this blog going! The fact of people still commenting shows you there's interest. You all had some of the best HRC & Company (State Dept.) photos.
Wishing you all the best.
NYCgirl - In the Superman
NYCgirl - In the Superman Comics, the alternative universe is called, "Bizzaro World". I feel the same way.
Yes!
Yes, "Bizarro World" is right! When I saw Hillary getting on that jet to Tokyo and then arriving there and greeting the Japanese VIPs, I was thinking "Wait! Where am I? President Obama?? What country is he the president of again ...?? And who is this wonderful woman looking all presidential in Tokyo??"
