Tony Blair and Hillary Clinton met today to talk about the Middle East - and they go way back, though they had plenty of public differences over the Iraq war. Blair must have been somewhat relieved a few weeks ago, when the White House ceremony in which George W. Bush gave him the presidential medal of freedom (for Blair's support of the Iraq war) was overshadowed by a more interesting event down the road: Clinton's confirmation hearing.

Don't miss FP's Epiphanies with Blair, where he reveals what he really wanted to be when he grew up.

I gotta admire Tony Blair

For tackling the Middle East and all of its problems. After his tenure as Prime Minister, Blair could have sat back, and rested on his laurels, made speeches, and retired, but his work in trying to secure peace between Israel and the Palestinians will hopefully one day bear fruit.

Funny

Funny! There is no such thing as retirement for these people. Retirement, as we understand the word, = death as far as they are concerned. It happens when you are thrown under the bus.

Having a cushy job as payment for services rendered is thier idea of golden parachute retirement...and really it's like a mob don dying in bed, a real achievement . Tony knows where the bodies are buried
