This morning, Hillary Clinton attended a White House ceremony to watch Barack Obama sign his first bill into law: the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act. That act reverses a 2007 Supreme Court decision that narrowed the statute of limitations on filing pay discrimination suits.

Hillary Clinton was one of the initial co-sponsors of the Senate legislation (later blocked by Republicans) that sought to change this decision and, in one of her few official acts before being confirmed as Secretary of State, signed on as an original co-sponsor again this year. She appeared with Lilly Ledbetter to rally for the legislation, spoke about the act on the floor of the Senate, and proclaimed its importance during her speech at the Democratic National Convention. She's no doubt delighted at the bill's success. Also in attendance: Nancy Pelosi and Michelle Obama.

Well said

Well said. It's good that HRC is above who's getting credit because she certainly isn't getting it in the press. The so called progressive media is completely omitting her. This is Huffpo's version:

"Obama Signs First Bill, Lilly Ledbetter Act: "For My Daughters"

President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Act, the first he signed as president. Ledbetter, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and First Lady Michelle Obama were all present"

Link

Not one mention of HRC's involvement, not one mention of her presence at the signing. While I know it shouldn't really matter who gets credit, HRC worked very hard to get this bill passed and it still gets under my skin that they could so blatantly misreport a story.

Uniform

Looks like the girls all "called each other." What are you wearing? Hill stands out in that magenta - same color family different branch (now). She should wear that color more often. It's beautiful on her.

Hillary looks so lovely. I

Hillary looks so lovely. I hope she is happy. She worked hard for this legislation, and she most certainly DOES deserve credit for it.

What about fair pay for the Foreign Service?

Secretary Clinton should push congress to fix the injustice faced by junior Foreign Service Officers working overseas. Because of the overseas pay gap, JOs lose 23% of their income simply by working overseas rather in DC.
