Wasting no time in responding to Hillary Clinton's statement yesterday (and Barack Obama's the day before) that Iran needs to "unclench [its] fist" before the United States will talk to Tehran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has fired back, suggesting the United States needs to apologize first and end its support for Israel. Ahmadinejad wants Obama to apologize for the 1953 coup and the 1988 downing of an Iranian airliner -- as well as a repudiation of U.S. support for Israel -- before he'll talk to us. Good luck with that, Mahmoud.

Unclench one finger...

If he wants an apology for the 1953 coup, then he should first apologize for the hostage situation. Nobody in this administration was old enough in 1953 to have been involved in that coup.

But look at this:

"According to a July 1st, 2005 article of the NYTimes, 6 former hostages of the 1979 US Embassy Crisis in Iran remember Ahmadinejad playing a major role in their captivity."

And Obama wanted to talk to

And Obama wanted to talk to Ahmadinejad without preconditions. Thankfully, he backed down on that promise.

Iran

Well, as far as I am concerned is actually right. It is very sad to say it, but it was the United States that performed the coup overthrouwing an elected government (Mohammed Moussadeq) and putting there the Xa who ruled as dictator, hence the iranian revolution (though i am not at all fond of Islamic Republics, messing with other peoples coutries is not the right way to act). And one cannot simply forget the role of the US in the Iran/Iraq war.
So in the end, it would be better if US oficials just leave hipocrisy at home and starting to see the world in other perspective.
