Between Bill Clinton's presidential runs in the 1990s and Hillary's run last year, longtime Clinton fundraiser (and former DNC chair) Terry McAuliffe raised more than $400 million for the Clintons alone. Now, McAuliffe is seeking the Democratic nomination for Virginia governor, and his old pal Bill is going to keynote the state's annual Democratic Jefferson-Jackson fundraiser early next month. The money is for the Virginia Dems, not McAuliffe specifically, but pulling in famous friends can't hurt.
It'll be Bill's first fundraiser since Hillary Clinton was sworn in as secretary of state. According to the Hill, a Clinton spokesman said that Hillary's new position would not prevent Bill from fundraising for the Dems. No word on whether Bill will stump for McAuliffe himself as the New York-born McAuliffe heads into the June Democratic primary against two contenders, both well-known in the state.

It's lucky for the Dems that at least one Clinton can keep campaigning for them! Hillary was a huge rainmaker for any campaign and her appointment as SOS is a gain for the world, but it's a big lost for Dem down ticket office seekers.
I am happy to see Clinton supporters getting into prominent positions-
Gillibrand in Senate
Nice to see McAuliffe as governor.
Perhaps there is hope for the democratic party in the future- I know it is padded in the house, senate and WH- but hopefully- we can get true leaders with real EXPERIENCE to actually do something over the next 2-6 years-
I will be sending a check to the Moran campaign, today, in hopes that he will be able keep McAuliffe out of the Governors mansion in Richmond.
This country has had enough of those with the Clinton taint.
