Clinton meets with Gillibrand

Hillary met with her newly appointed successor Kirsten Gillibrand, along with NY Gov. David Paterson and Sen. Chuck Schumer, for a congratulatory lunch yesterday at the Waldorf-Astoria. On the agenda: the economy, some foreign policy, and how best to organize a Senate office to serve constituents' needs. Gillibrand will be sworn in tomorrow.

This concern about the NY constituents, the actual voters, must be what is confusing the Times about this whole thing . No wonder its unhappy

Who pays?

This is not Clinton-specific, but rather a general query: When politicians dine at places like the Waldorf-Astoria, who pays?

I would assume the Democratic

I would assume the Democratic party pays as it is a "congratulatory" lunch for a new Senator.

Not that this is of vital importance ...

But I really like the scarf Hillary is wearing in that pic.

She always looks so pretty...

And I think it IS important. How she looks is part of the package, like it or not. She's lovely and amazing - makes me smile.

Congratulations to the new junior Senator from New York! This was a good pick by Governor Paterson though it sucks we're likely to lose her congressional seat...
