Hillary met with her newly appointed successor Kirsten Gillibrand, along with NY Gov. David Paterson and Sen. Chuck Schumer, for a congratulatory lunch yesterday at the Waldorf-Astoria. On the agenda: the economy, some foreign policy, and how best to organize a Senate office to serve constituents' needs. Gillibrand will be sworn in tomorrow.

....and how best to organize a Senate office to serve constituents' needs.

This concern about the NY constituents, the actual voters, must be what is confusing the Times about this whole thing . No wonder its unhappy

Who pays?

This is not Clinton-specific, but rather a general query: When politicians dine at places like the Waldorf-Astoria, who pays?

I would assume the Democratic party pays as it is a "congratulatory" lunch for a new Senator.

Not that this is of vital importance ...

She always looks so pretty...

And I think it IS important. How she looks is part of the package, like it or not. She's lovely and amazing - makes me smile.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the new junior Senator from New York! This was a good pick by Governor Paterson though it sucks we're likely to lose her congressional seat...
