Note to Mr Begala -- former President Clinton's activities have already very badly compromised Hillary Clinton with regard to one (admittedly not top-tier) country, Kazakhstan. I think this one was too complicated for most people to understand, but this dirty deal will inevitably define how President Nazarbayev perceives the Clintons. Note to Mr Attali -- Ukraine will not become a member of NATO without a referendum (all major politicians in Kyiv have made this clear). And a referendum has zero chance of passing (and likely would not get a pro-NATO vote of more than 30%) and everybody knows it. Why would Europe and the US, or Obama and Hillary, fight about something that will never happen?
